Who We Are
Whatsoever you do to the least of my brothers,
that you do unto me. Matt 25: 21-36
Total involvement and total self-dedication
The Trinitarian Missionaries of Merciful Love (TMML) is a religious community of women dedicated to the active apostolate of merciful love among the poor orphans and helpless of the society.
The congregation was founded by Rev. Mother Mary Agatha Chinwe Ebewu of the Divine will.
The Nigerian situation: armies of street orphans
Some states in Nigeria are like dumping grounds for touts of every kind. They hang around various markets, motor parks and streets; engage in stealing, prostitution, rape, kidnapping, drugs and other forms of antisocial behaviour, making our nation unsafe for everybody.
These gangs of street children roam around and corrupt other children, influencing them to leave their homes and become wayward individuals.
Some of these problem children are born and brought up in homelessness by mentally deranged women and beggars. They never receive proper parental care or home education, and they lack the basic needs of life. These beggar parents often die leaving their orphaned children permanently roaming the streets of Nigeria. Majority of these children cannot even trace their families and are usually exposed to prostitution, join gangs and engage in armed robbery a result of uncertainty.
The female homeless children get pregnant and give birth to more street orphans who continue the cycle.
What we do
The Trinitarian Foundation For Orphans And The Helpless is a non-governmental and non-profitmaking organization run by the Trinitarian Missionaries of Merciful Love. This is a congregation of religious women in the Catholic Church who are trained to dedicate their lives completely to God and the service of the orphans and rejected members of the society.
Our mission is selfless service among the poor and destitute – just like Jesus Christ. Those who are rejected and despised, those that people cannot freely identify with, and the poor suffering members of God’s family are our beneficiaries. We approach our work with an attitude of total involvement and total self-dedication.
